First day of work City Hospital Waid
The brief
The city hospital Waid supports 180’000 people from Zurich Nord with its acute medical service to stay or become healthy. In the state-of-the-art hospital, there are working around 1’000 employees.
The first day at work lays the foundation for future actions. As a teaching hospital, the city hospital Waid focuses strongly on basic and advanced training and the further development. Also, they strongly believe that it's values should not only be communicated but also be lived.
In the future, the huge and angled hospital building should be discovered with a digital iPad Rallye. At the same time, important behavior patterns and regulations such as hygiene and cleanness should be educated and retrained.
The solution and result
Together tabevents and the team of the city hospital Waid defined the topics to be trained during the first day such as work health promotion, IT security, hygiene, duty of confidentiality etc.
The discovery and experience of a new workplace can be fun if all requirements are considered. At the same time, the stay at a hospital can be a great strain on patients and their relatives. The discovery, experience and exchange with the employees of the hospital were objectives for the new Welcome Day. Nevertheless, the implementation needed to ensure the required peace and discretion of the daily routine of the hospital.
In a 2-hours discovery tour in small teams up to 6 participants, the new employees get to know each other in a fast and uncomplicated way. The iPads provide guidance for the easy orientation in the angled hospital Waid. With a lot of drive and enthusiasm the participants start on a hunt for knowledge and points. They get to know the city hospital Waid in an interactive, innovative and open-minded way. Fun and teamwork are not missed and they spice up the often quite "dry" topics of a regular Welcome Day.
